New in CloudQuery: Tines + Semgrep integration, and native visualizations,

We're excited to share three major updates to CloudQuery this month: a new Tines integration for security automation, a Semgrep integration for ingesting scanning data, and native visualization support in the CloudQuery Platform.

Tines integration #

Security teams are adopting automation at the heart of everything they do. Tines gives them an easy, no-code workflow engine for automating across various security-centric APIs and tools.
As this automation ecosystem grows, so does the amount of security "business logic" that lives within Tines workflows. For example, within Tines stories may live the classification of an urgent incident vs a mundane one, or critical misconfigurations analysis data.
Today we’re announcing Tines support as a source plugin. Now, engineering and security teams can effectively combine data from their Tines stories with the rest of their cloud infrastructure security, compliance, and configuration data.
  • Instantly understand scope of incidents
  • Correlate Tines workflows with the rest of your cloud environment
  • Analyze and report on Tines adoption
Connect your Tines logs, users, stories, resources, and more to the rest of your data warehouse with the new Tines source plugin today!

Semgrep source plugin #

Cloud security and platform teams increasingly rely on Semgrep for deep, precise static analysis across their codebases. It is fast, developer-friendly, and customizable…but its findings live in a silo. That means security teams end up exporting JSON, writing ad-hoc scripts, and manually correlating with cloud infra data.
CloudQuery now supports Semgrep as a source, allowing you to sync Semgrep findings, policies, deployments, and project metadata into the same warehouse where the rest of your cloud asset inventory lives.
This unlocks:
  • Full-context misconfiguration analysis (Correlate SAST/SCA findings with cloud resources)
  • Policy governance (query Semgrep rules/policies alongside your cloud config data)
  • Unified reporting for AppSec & CloudSec teams
Get started by installing the Semgrep source and choosing your tables!

Native visualization #

As a refresher: CloudQuery’s CLI is the lightweight data movement tool for syncing cloud infra data into your warehouse. The CloudQuery Platform is a managed version of the CloudQuery CLI with a managed database, auth and RBAC, and a rapidly developing insights layer.
New in the CloudQuery Platform this week is native query visualization within our web application. Simply write SQL (or have the integrated AI Assistant write it for you), and you’ll be presented with that data, visualized.
Line, bar, and pie charts are currently supported, with more to come. With native visualization, it is easier than ever to communicate information with speed and accuracy when you need it fast.

Summary #

This month brings three powerful additions to the CloudQuery ecosystem:
  1. Tines Source Plugin - Connect your Tines stories, workflows, and security automation data to your cloud asset inventory for complete incident context and correlation
  2. Semgrep Source Plugin - Bring Semgrep code scanning, policies, and findings into your warehouse to correlate vulnerabilities with cloud resources, IaC, and ownership.
  3. Native Visualization - Query and visualize your cloud data instantly within the CloudQuery Platform with built-in line, bar, and pie charts
Whether you're powering your own cloud asset inventory with the CloudQuery CLI or using the CloudQuery Platform as your turnkey asset inventory, these updates make it easier than ever to understand your cloud infrastructure. Get started today!
